Commission D Chairman: Provision of Vertical Housing is A Solution

Jakarta City Council's Commission D Chairman, Yuke Yurike assessed the provisioning of vertical housing is a solution for providing decent housing in Jakarta.

According to her, spatial planning can be handled by providing vertical housing such as affordable rent-flat (rusunawa).

Relocated to Flat, Residents Living Under Pejagalan Toll Road Bridge Happy

"Providing vertical housing could be one solution in providing housing in Jakarta with limited land," she said, Wednesday (12/4).

Yuke appreciated Jakarta Provincial Government's effort by relocating residents living under toll road and bridge to decent housing.

"I hope there will be no more residents living under toll road and bridge in the future," she added.

Yuke wants Jakarta Provincial Government to evaluate Governor Regulation No 90/2018 about Improving the Settlement Quality for Arranging Integrated Settlement Area. So that the slum area arrangement problem in Jakarta can be handled optimally.

"We also encouraged the regulation evaluation for related regional working units to do intervention," she continued.

According to her, public also needs to be given easier submitting complaints regarding the residential areas arrangement.

"Everything must go to the Public Housing and Residential Areas Agency. It is based on existing governor regulation. We want other agencies to accelerate in providing quick solution," she stated.
